Class - Water Quality for Medical Devices (THU 8:00-9:00)

Describe how water quality affects instrumentation during processing, (2) Name the levels of water quality necessary for specific steps in device cleaning, rinsing, disinfection and steam sterilization, (3) Describe the types of water treatment systems that may be used in device reprocessing.

It’s critical to know everything you can about your medical devices and facilities systems. That is because if a security exploit impacts a device, you need to quickly coordinate to dispatch the right person with the right remediation steps. In this webinar we will focus on why the OT security top priority is response and remediation using an intelligence hub made up of device information such as the device owner’s name, what the device is used for, its location, and security monitoring information. We will cover how this intelligence hub works with your workplace management system to dispatch and track the response across potentially hundreds of medical devices and healthcare facilities systems.

From procurement to deployment, from maintenance to end-of-life, medical devices come with inherit risk. This risk has evolved to include cybersecurity as well as patient safety. To account for all aspects of risk and security for medical devices, a program needs to adhere to best practices at all levels including: process, procedure, network, and endpoint.
