Job Title: Biomedical Technician I/II

Job Location: Rapid City, SD

Job Summary: Under relatively close supervision, repair, calibrate, and maintain all types of basic clinical equipment technologies, devices, instruments and systems. Inspect, install and provide preventive maintenance of general clinical equipment. Provide support both on-site and remotely to a hospital, service center location, or within an assigned territory.

Job Details: The essential functions of the job include but are not limited to the following:

• Repair, install, maintain, calibrate, and inspect a diverse range of therapeutic and diagnostic biomedical instrumentation and equipment.

• Perform preventive maintenance and electrical safety testing of clinical equipment, devices and systems.

• Diagnose and correct system and equipment malfunctions.

• Maintain documentation on new equipment, inspections, and equipment repairs and failures.

• Respond expeditiously to calls from clinical departments to evaluate and rectify valid operator complaints and concerns.

• Research and initiate orders for repair parts, working with the supervisor and TRC.

• Maintain an orderly and functional work environment ensuring tools and test equipment are in good working order.

• Provide 24 hour on-call services in accordance with contractual guidelines and/or departmental policies.

• Demonstrate and reflect a commitment to the mission and values of the company.

• Individual will maintain good personal relationships with fellow workers, nursing and medical staff, vendors, manufacturers and general public.

• Individual will be expected to participate in meetings, seminars, training, workshops and conferences as required.

• May assist senior biomedical engineering technicians or supervisor with in-service educational programs on use of equipment.

Job Requirements: Education: Associates degree in biomedical equipment technology or military training preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience can be


Experience: Entry level servicing a broad representation of clinical/patient care equipment in a hospital environment preferred.
